Eight Petrichor Clients Secure CERB Broadband Grants

July 15, 2021 – The Washington Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) today announced grant award recipients for its Rural Broadband – Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund. Eight of nine recipients received application assistance from Petrichor Broadband. Congratulations to the Port of Clarkston, Port of Ridgefield, Port of Woodland, Port of Columbia, Port of Garfield, Lincoln County, Port of Walla Walla and Port of Whitman County!   • Asotin County – The Port of Clarkston was awarded a $1,155,885 grant for the Northwest Clarkston Heights FTTx Project. This project consists of engineering and construction to the FTTx site and connections to individual homes/building at Clarkston Heights west of Scenic Way and north of Ben Johnson Road. This project is expected to produce 286 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 5 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $300,000 in local resources.
  • Clark County – The Port of Ridgefield was awarded a $1,880,800 grant for the Downtown Ridgefield and Hillhurst Neighborhood Project. This project consists of engineering and construction of fiber infrastructure in the Downtown Ridgefield and Hillhurst Neighborhoods within the City of Ridgefield. This project is expected to produce 608 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 7 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $470,200 in local resources.
  • Cowlitz County – The Port of Woodland was awarded a $1,976,496 grant for the Ariel to Cougar Fiber to Home Project – Phase 2. This project consists of design and construction of middle mile and last mile fiber between Ariel and Cougar with a focus on residential and business connections. This project is expected to produce 638 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 3 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $494,124 in local resources.
  • Columbia County – The Port of Columbia was awarded a $2,000,000 grant for the Dayton Community Broadband Project. This project consists of engineering and construction of broadband infrastructure to serve the City of Dayton and outlying adjacent areas. This project is expected to produce 1,287 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 5 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $500,000 in local resources.
  • Garfield County – The Port of Garfield was awarded a $323,482 grant for the Phase 2 FTTH Garfield County Project. This project consists of design and construction of last mile connections west of Pomeroy and in Pataha, as well as a couple of underground connections in Pomeroy city limits that were unable to be served with aerial during Phase 1. The project is expected to produce 55 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 3 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $404,352 in local resources.
  • Lincoln County – Lincoln County was awarded a $1,963,920 grant for the FTTx in Almira, Creston and Harrington Project. This project consists of design and construction of the project, including materials to build the backbone between Wilbur and Almira and the last mile FTTx in Almira, Creston and Harrington. This project is expected to produce 536 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 6 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $490,980 in local resources.
  • Walla Walla County – The Port of Walla Walla was awarded a $2,000,000 grant for the Walla Walla County Broadband – Rural County Install Project. This project consists of design and construction of last mile connections in Touchet, Prescott and Waitsburg. This project is expected to produce 775 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 8 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $567,650 in local resources.
  • Whitman County – The Port of Whitman County was awarded a $1,734,921 grant for the Malden/ Pine City FTTx Project. This project consists of design and construction of middle mile and last mile fiber in Pine City and the surrounding areas. This project is expected to produce 79 connections, at a speed of 1G/1G, and result in 2 Internet Service Providers servicing the area. CERB funds are matched by $433,730 in local resources.
